This is a nice heavy, modern reproduction of a classic "Cross of
Lorraine" pendant in Solid Sterling Silver. As you can see in the photo,
it is about 1 1/4 inch high without the loops.
This Pendant is furnished with a small diameter, round, polished
leather cord as shown in the first (left) photo.
The "Cross of Lorraine" was believed to be first used on the Battle
Colors of Joan of Arc. It has since been used as the Symbol of many
Military Units including the U. S. Army's 79th Infantry Division (Known
as the Cross of Lorraine Division) during World War II. It is still used
today as part of the design for many French Army and French Foreign
Legion Units. It was recently popularized on the VietNam "Team Ring"
of Thomas Magnum's military unit on the series Magnum PI. (Tom
Selleck) It is one of the Universal Symbols of the "Warrior" and worn
by many Military Men, SOF and Soldiers For Hire around the world.
This Pendant has a Light Hammered Finish on both sides. The
Hammered looks heavier in the pictures than it actually is. It's the
reflected light I think.
You can see from the pictures that this pendant is Nicely Designed
and the Heavy Construction should last a lifetime. Look at the edge
picture of the Cross and you can see that it isn't a lightweight, paper
thin pendant.
